Registry Easy will scan your Windows 98 registry for empty or invalid registry keys, bad file associations, bad software settings and entries for startup programs. When the scan is completed you will see a option to repair. Click it. Once the repair is complete make sure to reboot the system but hold off on that for now. This should have fixed most of your issues but before we call your system healthily I want to show you a few other tasks with in Registry Easy that will further boost performance. I am going to add a bonus step to this lesson not related to the Windows 98 Registry but still very important in keeping your system running smooth.
Next we will run the Evidence cleaner. This handy utility will delete all your temp files, history entries for Internet Explorer as well as other applications that hold history data. It also erases old cookies located in IE's cache. I would make a strong case to run the evidence cleaner every month.
I really like the system optimizer, Internet optimizer and Memory tweak. Running these programs really get your computer healthy. It wouldn't be a bad idea to also run the BHO Manager and the IE restore utilities from the IE tools selection menu. This will really getting your system humming. Make sure to reboot your system after completing these steps.
A word on system maintenance-Consider it a tune up for your computer. Your car would eventually start running sluggish and in time breakdown if you didn't change the oil and tune it up once and a while. So protect your data and keep you computer running great for a long time. By running these utilities once a month.
